THE CONTEXT

Urolithiasis is a frequent and recurrent pathology leading to the formation of one or more stones in the urinary tract. These are made up of stony piles and come in different compositions, shapes or sizes.

WHO IS AFFECTED?

This is a very common problem in France, Europe and industrialized countries, with over 10% of the adult population affected as well as a  70% recurrence rate . One third of patients will experience at least three lithiasis episodes in their lifetime.

HOW TO LIMIT THE REPEATED OFFENSE?

To limit the risk of recurrence, it is essential to know the chemical composition of your stone in order to adapt your treatment and your long-term management.

The value of your urine pH is also an important element to take into account when choosing your treatment.

With these elements, the doctor will then be able to prescribe a complementary assessment and then begin the most appropriate therapeutic measures (hygiene-dietetic rules, drug treatment).

WHAT IS CURRENTLY PROPOSED

It is currently recommended in the health insurance recommendations to use a compress, a coffee filter, or any means that can collect your stone.

These recommended means are neither practical nor effective, so only 10% of calculations are analyzed in France, according to our sources.

It is for this purpose that we created CalculStop® , the medical device for collecting kidney stones and measuring urinary pH for their analyzes.
